Yue Wu is a documentary film director, cinematographer, editor,
and sound designer based between China and the United States.
Trained as a journalist, Yue’s work explores social changes, weaving together personal and collective experiences through a nuanced, observational lens. Her work has been published in The Guardian, Al Jazeera, Reuters and The New York Times.
Beyond filmmaking, Yue was named one of Artsy’s “20 Young Female Photojournalists on the Rise Around the World.” Her photography work has been exhibited at the LOOK Photo Biennial in England and China (2019) and is part of the University of Salford Art Collection in the UK (2023).
She holds an MFA in Documentary Film and Video from Stanford University, and a BS in Journalism from Iowa State University.
